Do You Hear What I Hear?

“Stand in the gate of the LORD'S house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, … Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD.”  (Jeremiah 7:2, 4).

Jesus said “If any man have ears to ear let him hear” (Mark 4:23)

This is a metaphor for spiritual understanding.  Many people enter God’s house and never really hear Him speaking to their heart.  They do not have ears to hear.  Just as a person who has partially lost his hearing denies he has a problem, so do those who have loss of spiritual hearing.

They think they can get by, but Jeremiah said it is like trusting in lying words and then saying …”the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD.”

They were trying to sound spiritual with their lips but their heart was far from Him. It is not God speaking, but their own flesh.

When God speaks it will line up with the Word of God.

Do you hear God speaking to you today?  When you turn your eyes on Jesus you will find that the world seems quiet.  If you take your eyes off of Him, this world will get your attention and become so loud that it will be the only thing you hear.

Remember, the trump of God is about to sound, are you listening for it? “…Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)
